Picking Up Stones

May 22, 2005
On Sunday, our pastor's sermon was based on Joshua. We were reminded how Joshua had the people gather up stones to create a memorial of what God had done. They wanted to be able to look at a physical reminder, and be able to tell their descendents of God's faithfulness when He had called them to step out into the Jordan River.

We each received a stone to take home with us. Our pastor impressed upon us the importance of having "memorials" in our own spiritual walks; places to look back and remember.

Our stone represents this point in our life where God called us to step out in faith into adoption. We want to be able to tell our children about God's faithfulness in creating our family.

"But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord." (Joshua 24:15)
