A Spiritual Battle

March 8, 2006
It has been so encouraging to receive phone calls and e-mails this week from friends who have been praying for the job/adoption stuff. It is so nice to know that when I'm faced with slander and deception, God is all-powerful and all-knowing. We are believing that God is in control, and are trying to rely on His strength.

We continue to hold on to the faith that God has called us to adoption. And, when you're wholeheartedly trying to do God's will, there is often a spiritual battle that takes place. This is where prayer warriors' intercession is so vital. (Life is always "easier" when you take the "easy route!" But God never promises that it will be easy. He just promises to never leave us in the midst of it.) I've been reading through chapters 54-56 of Isaiah, which has been really inspiring.

Along with sending the verse of Isaiah 54:17 ("'No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me,' declares the Lord."), a friend sent this note as well:

"Michele~ Oh my goodness. If it is God's Will for you to have a child, and we both know that it is....no person is going to stop that. satan will try to throw you a curve ball. he already has...but you are more than a conquerer when you have Christ. I know you hear verses over and over again...but you know it's true. Your boss has no power to stop God's plan for your life. I'm excited to see what will happen!! And we're all here to cheer you on!!"
